Application Procedures for Employment of Overseas Domestic Helpers: |
A. |
The employer and domestic helper to be employed must sign the relevant agreements (in 4 copies) and needs all necessary certification.

The original of the agreement and a photocopy of the domestic helper's passport must be submitted to his/ her respective consulate in Hong Kong for verification. This process period varies from the processing time of each consulate.

Once these documents have been reclaimed, they should be submitted along with all other necessary documentation to the Immigration Department. In general, it takes 4-6 weeks to complete verification of the application from the time the receipt of documents reply slip. (Note: Extra time will be required if additional documents are submitted or require to be verified).

After receiving the written or verbal notification from the Immigration Department regarding issuance of the relevant working visa, the employer or employer's authorized representative may pick up the visa from the Immigration Department by taking along an original copy of the employer's recent proof of address (at least 3 month's validity) and amount of HK$135.00.

After receive of the visa, your HK Employment agency will immediately send it to the respective overseas training centre and they will arrange exit formalities for the employee. It will generally take the employee between 2-3 weeks to arrive in Hong Kong.

F. |
Upon arrival of the employee in Hong Kong the employee need to arrange application for an ID card and registering with the respective consulate.

After completion of all formalities, the employer will be contacted to take the employee home.

H. |
In general, the whole process takes between 10-12 weeks.
